Botox Treatment
in Chennai.
Botulinum toxin injections are prescription medical treatments used for selected dynamic facial lines and certain medical conditions such as excessive sweating. Suitability, injection sites and dose should be determined after clinical assessment.

What is botulinum toxin treatment?
Botulinum toxin type A is a purified protein that temporarily reduces signalling between nerves and selected muscles or sweat glands. In cosmetic dermatology it may soften expression-related lines by reducing activity in targeted facial muscles. It does not work by adding volume and is therefore different from dermal filler treatment.
The effect is temporary. Treatment planning should preserve appropriate facial movement rather than aiming to immobilise every expression.
When may it be considered?
Selected expression lines may improve when the responsible muscles are appropriately targeted.
Botulinum toxin can be used in selected cases of hyperhidrosis after assessment of the affected area and previous treatment.
Muscle strength, symmetry, brow position and previous procedures influence treatment planning.
Static lines caused by skin ageing or volume loss may require a different or combined approach.
Botox vs dermal fillers
These treatments address different mechanisms. Botulinum toxin reduces activity of selected muscles; dermal fillers add or restore volume. The appropriate option depends on the concern and facial assessment.

What to expect
After assessment and consent, small quantities are injected into selected sites using a fine needle. Treatment is usually brief. Effects are not immediate and generally develop over several days, with duration varying between individuals and treatment areas.
Temporary injection-site discomfort, redness, swelling, bruising or headache can occur. Unintended weakness of nearby muscles, asymmetry or eyelid/brow drooping may occur depending on the treatment area. Rare systemic effects require prompt medical attention.
Who may need to avoid or postpone treatment?
Suitability should be reviewed carefully in people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have infection at the planned injection site, certain neuromuscular disorders, previous reactions to botulinum toxin products, or medicines that may affect neuromuscular function. This is not an exhaustive list; disclose your medical history and medicines during consultation.
